hand-painted greeting cards, each one a 5x7 work of art
Frequently Asked Questions

How are the cards made?
Each card is individually hand-painted (no prints here!) using professional watercolor paint and high-quality watercolor paper at Marty's studio in Christchurch, New Zealand. The painted side is then protected with an archival sealant, though cards should still be kept dry and out of direct sunlight for longevity. As handmade items, no two cards will be identical and each card is a unique work of art.
Does my card come with an envelope?
Yes! All cards will arrive with a blank envelope for mailing or gifting. Additional (extra) envelopes may be added on to any order for $1.00/each.
Can I request a custom order?
Sorry, we are not taking custom orders at this time. Specific cards may be available with customization options, which will be noted on the card's page. However, please feel free to submit suggestions or requests for future releases, we love hearing about what people want to see!
Are the same cards always available?
No! Stock is limited, and will be periodically changed out for new designs. This allows for seasonal offerings and provides variety for our repeat customers. Announcements about upcoming stock releases will be made on our social media sites.
How much do the cards cost?
We have special introductory pricing for the inaugural launch of Watercolor by Marty!
All cards are $10 USD/$16 NZD each for a limited time.
How much is shipping?
Shipping within New Zealand: flat rate $5 NZD for up to 8 cards.
Shipping to the US and internationally: $5 USD for up to 6 cards. Items usually take about 2 weeks to reach the US.
How does ordering work?
Orders can be placed HERE via our online order form or by email to watercolor.by.marty@gmail.com. Once the order is submitted, a finalized invoice will be promptly emailed to you with payment instructions through PayPal, Venmo, or NZ bank transfer. Stocked items will be shipped within 3 business days of receiving payment.
How should I care for my card?
All cards are sealed with an archival spray to help protect the painted side of the paper before they are sold. Although every effort is made to use the highest quality materials, some watercolor colors may still be prone to fading if left in direct sunlight for an extended period of time. It is highly recommended that you keep your card dry at all times to avoid potential damage to the painting or paper. If framing is desired, the cards can fit most standard 5x7 frames.
